AC Milan beat Inter Milan 3-2 in the 5th round of Serie A. Léo scored twice and also gave one assist.
After conceding the first goal, Léo equalized for Milan in the 27th minute, when Tonelli intercepted the ball in front of the field and distributed it to Léo, who shot diagonally from outside the top left corner of the small box to make it 1-1.
The match coincided with Léo's 100th Serie A game, and the goal was his first in a Milan derby.
The goal also made Leo the first Portuguese player in history to score in a Milan derby that included all competitions. This is an achievement that has not been achieved by famous players such as Rui Costa and Figo.
In the 54th minute, Leo assisted Giroud with a cross from the left to make it 2-1.
In the 60th minute, Giroud passed the ball and Leo shot low into the far corner from a small angle on the left side of the box to make it 3-1.
After the match Inter veteran Valero also praised Léo: "Léo is very strong, that's why many teams want him and those teams will be willing to pay a very high transfer fee for him. Léo's performance on the attacking end means Milan have more chances to win and he is the absolute protagonist."
