On Monday, Bayern officially announced that it had extended the contract of the club's sporting director Salihamidzic for 3 years, with a new contract until 30 June 2026.
Salihamidzic became Sporting Director of Bayern in August 2017 and on 1 July 2020 the Supervisory Board appointed him a member of the Management Board of Bayern Munich AG.
Bayern president Heina said Salihamidzic has done a lot of excellent work for the club in five years, helping the club to develop, and in addition to the goals on the pitch, he has also contributed a lot in terms of economy.
After taking office, Bayern won five Bundesliga titles, two German Cups, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and other honours, including six in the 2020-21 season. As a player, Salihamidzic also played for Bayern for many years, helping the team win the Champions League.
