September 3 (15:30 local time in Germany), the fifth round of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season began to compete, Bayern Munich drew 1-1 away to Union Berlin, and Kimmich equalized. Bayern drew back-to-backs and the away winning streak was ended.

In the 12th minute, Trimmel's diagonal free-kick was crossed and Becker's small edge of the penalty area was shot into the net. Bayern equalised in the 15th minute when Musharra's powerful shot from 12 yards was blocked in a corner kick and Kimmich's powerful shot from the right side of the penalty area broke the goal to make it 1-1.
